CULTS
AND
FALSE RELIGIONS

MS-5641e Cults & False Religions
TH-420e Cults & False Religions

I. CONTENT OF THE COURSE:

This course is a study of the many cults of the world. The course is designed to present a straightforward approach to the apostasy and heretical teachings found in the world. Since there are a multitude of cults existing today, this course presents a digest of some major cults in an honest and informative way.

II PURPOSE OF THE COURSE:

This course is designed to make the student aware of the vast differences in man’s beliefs and attitudes toward God. Man is incurably religious, and this course firmly proves the fact. By comparing the false beliefs the cults proclaim about God and Jesus Christ, the Christian can only complete this course by being more appreciative of God’s plan of Salvation through the precious Blood of His Son Jesus Christ.

III. OBJECTIVE OF THE COURSE:

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to demonstrate a beginning level of comprehension of the vast numbers of false religions in the world today. He will gain an in-depth awareness of the growing destruction cults and false religions pose on an unsuspecting public and do the following:

• Learn the cause and effect of these pagan religions down through history.
• Learn about the various cult “bibles” and how the cults twist the meaning of Scripture and take Holy Bible verses out of context.
• Learn the characteristics of cults and the Occult.
• Learn about cult leaders, cultic doctrines, beliefs, and teachings.

The student will demonstrate a beginning working knowledge of the inner activities of these movements and the cultic mind-set,

• By learning the major doctrinal differences between cults and Evangelical Christianity.
• By learning how to use your Bible as an effective tool when confronted by a cultist.

While this is a self-paced course, CTU recommends that you finish the lessons at a pace of 1 lesson every two weeks.
