I. CONTENTS OF THE COURSE:
This course is a study of the church from the Reformation (1517) to the present. Included is the Reformation as it affected the continent of England, and the United States; the counter Reformation; the denominational churches in Europe, England and the U.S. that were spawned by the Reformation. This study will further trace the history of the Church to the 20th century with all of its schisms and denominations.
II. PURPOSE OF THE COURSE:
The purpose of the course is to acquaint the student with church history from the Reformation (1517) to the present.
III. OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE:
Upon successful completion of the course, the student should be able to trace the history of the Church from the Reformation (1517) to the present day. He should be able to differentiate the true Church (the Body of Christ) from the rest of Christendom. He also should be able to appreciate the heritage that is ours in the true Church of Jesus Christ. Finally, he should be able to trace his own denomination back to its beginning.
While this is a self-paced course, CTU recommends that you finish the lessons at a pace of 1 lesson every two weeks.
